Chinese Plum Sauce

What you’ll need (Serves 2):

  • 2 bottles Queen Garnet plum nectar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, finely grated
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 4 star anise
  • 1/4 tsp ground clove
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
  • 1 tsp chilli flakes (or to taste)

How to make it:

  • Place all ingredients in a pan over a high heat, and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium and allow it to simmer for 20-30 minutes or until reduced and thickened.
  • Remove cinnamon and star anise and pour into sterilised jars.
  • Serve with your favourite dumplings, spring rolls, or use as a marinade.
