Chinese Plum Sauce
What you’ll need (Serves 2):
- 2 bottles Queen Garnet plum nectar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 inch fresh ginger, finely grated
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 4 star anise
- 1/4 tsp ground clove
- 1/2 tsp fennel seeds
- 1 tsp chilli flakes (or to taste)
How to make it:
- Place all ingredients in a pan over a high heat, and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat to medium and allow it to simmer for 20-30 minutes or until reduced and thickened.
- Remove cinnamon and star anise and pour into sterilised jars.
- Serve with your favourite dumplings, spring rolls, or use as a marinade.
